hi - i’m rana, the artist behind clay to pots!

i started pottery in 2004 here in abu dhabi, alongside my career as an architect and many years spent painting and working within the visual arts. what began as a part-time exploration quickly grew into a deeper commitment - years of learning, researching, studying glaze chemistry, and developing my own colours and forms.

pottery became the place where the disciplines i cared about - structure, design, and colour - came together in a way that felt natural. my background in architecture gives my work its focus on form and proportion, while my experience in the visual arts shapes the colour stories and glaze combinations that have become signature to my pieces.

clay to pots is my studio - where every piece is designed, handmade and glazed

no two days look the same. some days are spent at the wheel; others on refining shapes, testing glazes, preparing kiln loads, teaching, or developing commissions. what guides my work is simple: thoughtful design, attention to form, and creating pieces that feel intentional.
